- Non-Profit Career Meet-up: Resume Review Drop-In – Session #2

- If you are planning to attend the Non-Profit Career Meetup, we encourage you to attend our resume review drop-in session. In this session, you will have the chance to meet with our team to learn how to adjust your resume to reflect your relevant experience, abilities, and accomplishments. You will receive valuable advice to help your resume stand out to employers who are attending the Non-Profit Career Meetup. This webinar will be presented by Kelsey Richardson, career advisor. This program will be presented twice during the semester. Students are strongly encouraged to attend a resume webinar before requesting a resume review with the Office of Career Services. You are welcome to join the meeting at any time within the two hours.

- How do advertisements shape our attitudes about aging? In this session, participants will explore how cultural age beliefs influence buying practices. Through reflection and dialogue, they will develop skills to identify ageism in advertising and learn strategies to cultivate intentional, confident age beliefs that promote inclusion and positivity.

- The Office of Student Life is excited to announce that Emily Jimenez, a CUNY SPS alumna, will be leading meditation sessions designed to help the CUNY SPS community cultivate balance and resilience. These sessions aim to empower students with practical tools for holistic well-being. End of Semester Guided Journaling: Reflect on your semester in this guided journaling session, designed to celebrate your achievements and process challenges. Through structured prompts, participants will gain insights, release old narratives, and set meaningful intentions for personal growth.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how to: structure a presentation, engage your audience, divide up the work effectively for a group presentation, present confidently before your peers, and see how you can use these suggestions and tips to increase your presentation confidence! This session is led by Tutor.com’s Training and Development Team. A Q&A session will take place after the presentation, so stick around at the end!
- Careers in Non-Profit – Career Meet-up Session #2

- Explore opportunities in your career field, connect and engage with industry professionals, and build your network. Meet hiring managers and recruiters, learn first-hand about their organizations and job and internship openings, and get pointers on how to position yourself for success. Each online career meet-up session will focus on a specific industry but will be open to current students and alumni from all majors and programs. Sessions will be hosted by the career services team, featuring employers, alumni, and others from around the CUNY SPS community.
- Lavender Graduation Ceremony

- Celebrating the LGBTQIA+ Graduates of CUNY SPS! Description: The Lavender Celebration is an end-of-year event where we, as a college community, recognize and honor graduating LGBTQIA+ students, LGBTQIA+ alumni, and allies. It is a cultural celebration that acknowledges the achievements and contributions that students of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions have made at the CUNY School of Professional Studies. (Faculty, staff, and students are invited to celebrate!) Food will be served, and graduating students and alumni will receive a lavender cord and gift! Format: This event will be offered in person only. On-campus attendance will be limited based on public safety and fire code regulations. Location: The on-campus celebration will take place at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, 119 W. 31st Street, New York City. On-Campus Guests: While we would love to welcome all of our graduates’ friends and family to the ceremony, on-campus attendance will be limited. The Pride Club and Student Life are monitoring registrations and will follow up with graduates to confirm the number of guests who may attend in person.

- Bite Sized Self-Care and Stress Management Techniques

- In this one-hour interactive workshop participants will delve into self-care techniques. Participants will work in small groups to explore and unpack positive coping tools to manage their stress and work-life balance. Joanna Agnello, LMHC, will lead the workshop. Joanna works for the City University of New York, Kingsborough Community College as a lecturer teaching undergraduate psychology courses in the Behavioral Sciences Department. In addition to teaching at the University, Joanna facilitates professional development for faculty and conducts research on multicultural identity development.

- The Children’s Program Administrator Credential (CPAC) is recognized in New York State as the standard for measuring effectiveness in leadership, procedural supervision, and fiscal management for administrators of early childhood and school-aged children’s programs. Come to a virtual information session to learn more about the online graduate-level, 18-credit program at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, offered in partnership with the Career Development Center, leading to the CPAC. These sessions are designed to foster understanding, build trust, and strengthen our community—one conversation at a time. Description: Mindfulness and meditation practice followed by a guided discussion on coping with academic challenges, academic pressure, career uncertainty, fear of failure, and perfectionism.

- Come to a virtual information session to learn more about the CDA certificate program at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, offered in partnership with the Institute’s Career Development Center. The program prepares anyone interested in working with infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children (birth through age 5) to seek their CDA credential. In this 12-credit program, students learn the skills they need to create an effective learning environment for children. Students take four required courses and receive guidance with writing, creating a portfolio, classroom observations, career services and more. - We invite you to attend this online Jump Start information session during which time our Associate Director of Admissions Access Programs & SEEK will answer any questions that you might have about our Jump Start application process. Jump Start is a performance-based application process for degree-seekers, regardless of their GPA. Instead of focusing on traditional academic requirements, this new admissions approach allows you to create a portfolio that demonstrates the college-level skills and knowledge you’ve developed inside or outside of a college classroom in areas such as leadership, research, technical skills, professional writing, and languages. You can gain admission to CUNY SPS and finish your degree faster with Jump Start.

- Celebrating the Black Graduates of the Class of 2025! The CUNY School of Professional Studies Black Student Union (BSU) invites all Black graduates from the Fall of 2024 through Spring 2025 to take part in the 2025 Black Graduation Ceremony. Format: This event is offered in a hybrid format so that all who wish to participate may do so. On-campus attendance will be limited based on public safety and fire code regulations. Online attendance will take place via Zoom. All registered graduates will be sent the link to the online ceremony. Location: The on campus ceremony will be held at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, 119 W. 31st Street, 4th Floor, New York City. The ceremony will be streamed live for those taking part online. On Campus Guests: While we would love to welcome all of our graduates’ friends and family to attend the ceremony, on campus attendance will be limited based on public safety and fire code regulations. The BSU and Student Life are monitoring the registration, and will follow up with graduates to confirm the number of guests who may attend on campus. Students are currently allowed to bring two guests each. Accessibility: The event will include American Sign Language interpreters and live captioning for those attending on campus as well as online. If other accommodations are needed, you can let us know about those when you register. Please note: Registering for the Black Graduation Ceremony does not register you for the CUNY SPS Commencement ceremony, and vice versa.

- The CUNY School of Professional Studies recognizes the academic achievements of the Class of 2025 at our annual Commencement celebration. Registration for the ceremony will begin in early March. All graduates who register to attend the ceremony by the mid-April registration deadline will be granted 5 guest tickets. Attending the ceremony in-person requires a digital ticket. All graduates who are registered to attend the ceremony will be provided a link to the livestream to share with their guests. A recording of the ceremony will be posted in the days following the ceremony. Note: Only the names of the graduates who have registered to attend the ceremony will be read aloud.
