Editor’s Note: Melissa Almanzar, BA in Business, is the president of the CUNY SPS Makeup and Beauty Club, which was founded during the Fall 2024 semester.
The Makeup and Beauty Club is all about learning new tips and tricks. Our mission is to promote a culture of self-care and wellness. We aim to have monthly meetings via Zoom where members and professionals can give lessons and tutorials on a variety of topics. We want to create a supportive community for all members.
Joining the Makeup and Beauty Club provides opportunities to connect with like-minded peers, and gain valuable experience in beauty and skincare. It’s a great way to enrich your college experience and build lasting connections.
We recently held a Halloween-themed makeup tutorial. We picked out a look through Pinterest and tried to recreate it.
We have exciting events coming up, including a Thanksgiving Casual makeup tutorial. This event will be held virtually on November 21 at 7pm via Zoom. We hope to see more students join us.
I decided to join this club because I have always had an interest in beauty and makeup but as life goes on, I find myself with less time to indulge in it. Joining this club gives me at least once a month to reignite this passion.
